Return to List Canon Literacy Center Seeks Volunteers
Posted on Nov 3, 2009
The Canon Literacy Center (CLC) is accepting volunteers for the upcoming Spring Semester, starting on February 2, 2010. The CLC is a relatively new non-profit in Fremont County. We offer free, one-on-one tutoring for the children in this area who are reading below grade-level. Volunteers who complete the short training course will tutor kids from 1st thru 6th grade. Partnering with the local school districts, our tutors will find their job easy, very rewarding and fun. The program is based on the proven “Peak Reader” curriculum (www.peakreader.org). Tutors will be scheduled for 2 hours a week for 12 weeks. For more info, click here for a printable copy of the CLC Volunteer Brochure or call Site Coordinator, Eileen Lakey at 719-289-5426.
