This does not include drainage easements that flow across private property.
The plan, as originally understood by us, would both enhance the beauty of the areas affected, and also improve wildfire mitigation.
As we now understand the plan, we consider it extremely excessive in the number of live trees to be removed, and as it affects storm drainage and the aesthetics of Dawson Ranch. Also, it fails to address dead trees and flammable debris in the drainage areas.
Accordingly, we have intervened directly with the City to obtain desired modifications, as outlined above. We will continue our efforts as necessary, including additional meetings with the City this coming week. Also, we hope to provide onsite monitoring of the work at all times.
The work will be conducted in phases, and as soon as we know the sequence and location of these phases, we will post it on this website. Some of the work will not be done for at least another 12 months.
We are currently working in some of the affected areas by beginning the process of flagging additional trees to be saved, and locating deadfall that needs to be removed. The City has used blue spray paint to mark the trees it intends to save. Our own flagging effort will continue over the next few days by us.
It will be impossible for us to keep residents informed in a timely manner by sending letters. To keep current on the information we have, as it develops, please monitor this website: www.dawsonranch-hoa.com on a frequent basis. If you have questions, concerns, suggestions, etc., please communicate with us by using the website or our e-mail address: dawsonhoa@gmail.com.
Thanks for your help. We may be seeking your assistance.
